As we all know very well that the rent is too damn high, there is much more within our housing market that must be reformed as well. I’ve heard horror stories about properties in our district where tenants face long wait times for maintenance services or they are wrongly evicted and never get their security deposits back. When it comes to home ownership, our neighbors are struggling to pay their mortgages, and out‑of‑control property taxes keep pressure on our homeowners. A new generation of Michiganders want to own a home. But skyrocketing prices keep that dream far away.
