AFFORDABLE CHILD CARE

The way we do childcare in our district is not working. Parents are paying high costs to put their child in a care facility, while the childcare professionals are paid way below what they deserve. Studies by the U.S. and Michigan Chambers of Commerce and the Early Childhood Investment Corporation have shown that Michigan is losing out on $2.8 billion in economic growth due to the shortage of reliable childcare. The economy of our city depends on the parents of our city, they deserve to be treated accordingly.
